DIABLO ACTORS' ENSEMBLE
Bringing Live Theatre Closer To You
Diablo Actors' Ensemble's 2011 Award Winning Production of "Driving Miss Daisy" will be performing at Marin Theatre Company.
"A touching, powerful, evening of theater... while you may have a tear in your eye, you will leave the theater with a warm, optimistic feeling in your heart." – Contra Costa Times
Having recently demolished her car, Daisy Werthan must now rely on the services of a chauffeur, a proud, soft-spoken black man named Hoke (played by the inimitable L. Peter Callender, last seen at MTC in The Whipping Man). She immediately regards him with disdain, and he, in turn, is equally unimpressed with her. In a series of warm-hearted, humorous scenes spanning 25 years, the two develop an unlikely bond despite their mutual differences, growing closer to and more dependent upon one another. Don’t miss MTC’s special presentation of this timeless meditation on race relations in America that has already wowed audiences at Diablo Actors' Ensemble and African-American Shakespeare Company.
